Heeelp

I've had my iphone for 6 months and it suddenly stopped connecting to my home wi-fi last week (still connecting at work).
I've tried: resetting network settings, with $ before password, changing DNS, removing security from my router and nothing works

Please help, I dont know what else to do

Hello all,

I need help. I bought my 3G ipone on Moday and I still can't seem to get the wifi to work. On unsecured networks I always get the message "unable to join network". I get this result on public unsecured networks and on my home netowork which is also unsecured.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Nutdhanai said,

On your iPhone, go to setttings, general, reset, select - reset network settings

I followed this advice and it worked right away. All done.

Thank you.

Ok Folks, I had this same Wi-Fi issue and I could fix it! I have done some stuffs which I believe that can help you all. Let me first try to explain what I understand about this issue and then I will say what I have tried until get it fixed.

So, many of you think that, after some tries, there is no other alternative and you should request Apple's support or even change your iPhone to another one. Calm down!

You are having this Wi-Fi issue because your EGDE is trying to take the connection all the time. My iPhone could hardly see the networks around. So I did this steps bellow:

- My firmware was 1.1.4 and I downgraded it to 1.1.3. How? Very easy! Download this file from apple site "iPhone1,1_1.1.3_4A93_Restore.ipsw". Connect your iPhone to your computer, open iTunes and, holding SHIFT, press "Restore" button. It will open a pop up asking for the file that you already downloaded. Select the file and and a few seconds. At the end, you will receive an error message saying that the iphone could not be restored. Easy, because you are in the right way. Now, download ziPhone and, with iPhone still connected and iTunes opened, click on "Do it All". Your iPhone will be unlocked, jailbroke and activated. Now, still on ZiPhone, expand the Advanced Features, select "Fix NO WiFi" and click on "Perform Actions". Excellent! So far, your iPhone has 1.1.3 firmware, is unlocked, jailbroke and activated. Also you ran the wifi fix.

- Turn off and on again your iPhone

- Download BossPref. I don't know the source but you can easily find it on Google. After installed, just turn the EDGE off into this program. This is very important!

- If you still got issues to open a page, try to use a DNS. This also can help a lot!

So folks, that is what I've done with my iPhone. Before that I thought about throw it away but, CALM DOWN, I have sure you also will fix this issue on your iPhone.

Good luck and holp it helps! ;)

Cannot hook new G-3 i phone up to secured WiFi at Home. Unsecured works fine. Both Wep 64 or 128 with or without ""$" cause a check mark, but the network never hooks up.... cannot find where to change password to ASCII in new G 3to try that...At wits end?? Running Linksys -N Router
